IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT THE BASIC ISSUE BETWEEN GOD AND MAN IS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
“There is no one righteous, not even one” (Rom. 3:10)
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23).
HOWEVER, THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT UNDER THE NEW COVENANT, IT IS THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST THAT MAKES YOU RIGHTEOUS AND NOT YOURS.
“For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous” (Rom. 5:19).
RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A GIFT IN CHRIST; IT GIVES YOU ACCESS TO ALL OF GOD’S ABUNDANT BLESSINGS AND FAVOR.
GOD QUALIFIED YOU TO BE THE PARTAKER OF HIS DIVINE PROMISES WHEN HE MADE YOU RIGHTEOUS IN CHRIST!
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ” (2 Cor. 1:20).
HERE ARE SOME BIBLICAL VERSES CONCERNING GOD’S PROMISES FOR THE RIGHTEOUS!
"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall."
"The Lord's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous."
"Misfortune pursues the sinner, but prosperity is the reward of the righteous."
"A sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous."
"The Lord is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous."
"The Lord watches over the way of the righteous."
"For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield."
"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles."
"Blessings crown the head of the righteous."
UNDER THE NEW COVENANT WE ARE ASKED TO LIVE BY FAITH,
“Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, ‘The righteous will live by faith’” (Gal. 3:11)
“We live by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7).
TO FIGHT A GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH! “Fight the good fight of the faith” (1Tim. 6:12a).
BECAUSE WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD! “And without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb. 11:6a).
REMEMBER, FAITH IS SEEING YOUR EMPTINESS FILLED WITH CHRIST’S FULLNESS!
“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him” (Col 2:9-10)
