I often stumble on the question : "Why do some born-again Christians live as if they didn't receive God's grace yet? Why do they live like if the cross didn't matter ? Why don't they claim their victory if they are victors ?"
I think this little story may bring the beginning of an answer to that :
In a zoo, there was an elephant who had been chained during decades. One day, the director of the zoo decided it could be unchained because it was too old to be a menace. The next day, when zookeepers came to give him his food, they didn't go to him to give it as usual but left it at the edge of his zone : now that he was unchained, he was able to go and take it. But the elephant didn't cross the space it used to walk when it was chained. It stayed there, trumpetting out of frustration, when it could as well cross the line and go for it.
Habits die hard.
New King James Version (NKJV)
5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,[a] and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Amen Narindra. This is the point I'm always making. We ALREADY HAVE IT. Many Christians still living as if the cross doesn't matter, as if Jesus has done nothing. We are ALREADY VICTORIOUS, it's just a matter of claiming it by FAITH. We are ALREADY SAVED, RIGHTEOUS, HOLY, REDEEMED, SANCTIFIED, JUSTIFIED, FORGIVEN, COMPLETE, PERFECT...ALL BECAUSE we are IN CHRIST no other reason or means to have those...only by believing in JESUS... Many Christians still trying to EARN and WORK for God's GRACE....by believing in Jesus we already have it.
Yes I agree with you michelle.
Amen to that. :)
