THE POWER OF GOD'S WORD IN BELIEVERS.
Hebrews 4:12; Romans 1:16; Hebrews1;3
It is a great privilege to be a child of God, to be converted from being an unbeliever to become a believer, from a sinner to a saint, from a child of Satan to a child of God, from darkness unto light, from following the world to following the Lord.
That conversion brings a mighty change that gives some privileges to a Christian. These privileges include (1) Love that cannot be fathomed- so deep, high, broad, great; (2) Life that cannot cease- life eternal; (3) Righteousness that cannot be tarnished; (4) Peace that cannot be understood; (5) A rest that cannot be disturbed; (6) Joy that cannot be diminished; (7) A hope that cannot be disappointed; (8) Light that cannot be interrupted by darkness; (10) Purity that cannot be defiled; (11) Wisdom that cannot be baffled; and (12) Resources that cannot be exhausted.
We enjoy these privileges in increasing measure when we discover more of God's word and we follow Him.
The Bible is the totality of the word of God to man and contains everything he needs to be successful, happy in this life and in the world to come. The word of God is so mighty and powerful, and greater than any instrument of any man on earth. The word of God, the gospel, is powerful in that it reveals our evil ways and ow we can be cleansed and free from them. We are not ashamed of the gospel, therefore, because it is the power of God,of Christ. The gospel is the word of Grace, of Omnipotence, of Salvation, of Power, of the Eternal Christ and, of Love. "It is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jews first, and also to the Greek."
